Putin's meeting with Russian business women
NTV (Russian TV channel): "Today, on the eve of the March 8 holiday, the President had meeting with the business women of Russia. 26 ladies came to the Kremlin to explain to the head of the coutry "a woman's view of what is happening in the country, the future of Russia and its citizens."
At the tea party in the Kremlin were the Director of a meat processing plant, the artistic Director of a theater, a farmer and an owner of a pottery workshop. The picture was completed by Vice-Premier Valentina Matvienko and Deputy Jakhan Pollieva, except 2 of them there were no other ladies from the government. And it made the President Putin upset - he complained that in Russian politics there are few women. Russia, in his opinion, needs a female approach.
The President remarked: "I would like this situation to change. And, in any case, I want to give you a promise that I will act consistently in this direction."
Vladimir Putin made a toast, raising a glass of champagne: "I would like to congratulate all the women of Russia, and, of course, those who are here. God bless you! All the best to you, happiness to you and love." The fact that business women were invited to the Kremlin was quickly felt.
They all declined the offer of wine, not making small talk, but talking to the point.
They talked about kid's problems, about reforming school programs, about the necessity to preserve state medicine, and about land ownership. Tereza Durova, the head of the Art theater, complained that children today have no place to express themselves, and they feel unsettled. In her opinion, "if we don't pay attention to this right now, then in five years kid's theaters will have no one to play for. Kids will go on streets to join gangs."
The business women made it clear that the President can always count on them. To make sure, the President was given an example from the animal world. "When everything is calm and good, the herd is led by a female elephant. When there is an extreme situation, the male elephant goes forward. Without a woman's intuition business can't expand that rapidly. And without a man's sense of purpose, too," said Maria Aksenova, CEO of the Avanta+ publishing center.
This was probably one of the President's most enjoyable meetings. Putin was listened to, Putin was given flattering words, then the press was removed – so the conversation must have been cordial. And finally, the participants of the meeting advised Vladimir Putin to "smile more often".
